Meet Our Staff --- Front Secretary!

Introducing . . .
Jennye Harding

Front Secretary

Jennye Harding has been involved in children’s education for 13 years, since her first child entered kindergarten.  She believes that each child deserves a happy, welcoming place to come and learn and has strived to help make that happen in and out of the classroom.  While she continues to study Elementary Education herself, her number one goal is to help create an environment that allows children to succeed and find a love of learning.

Mrs. Harding has done a variety of different things at the schools she’s worked with.  She began as a parent volunteer and has served in the PTA running a reading incentive program.  She began working in a school environment as a substitute teacher and later teaching art specialty classes to 4th-6th graders.  Her greatest passion in learning is for reading; because reading can take you anywhere.  There are countless adventures found within the pages of great books.   Some of her all time favorite books include “Gone with the Wind”, “Ruby Holler”, the “Harry Potter” series, and a collection of poetry by Emily Dickinson.

Mrs. Harding is married and is the mother of 5 children.  When not at school, she enjoys being with her family camping, playing, working on a variety of home improvement projects…and of course reading.  She is excited to become a part of the new Dry Creek family!

Weekly Pictures

I hope everyone has enjoyed the last week of school and all of the fun activities that go along with it.  Just think---next year at this time we will be celebrating the end of the first Dry Creek school year!  There continues to be progress with the building and grounds.  The above picture shows the kindergarten pull through and kindergarten playground preparation.

White boards and bulletin boards are being installed in some classrooms this week.  Almost all of the classrooms have been painted at this point.  Cabinets are still being installed throughout the building.

This week I've been working on playground equipment.  We are continuing to get new personnel and I'll be posting more about that in the coming weeks.  There is lots of grading and landscaping work being completed right now.  The above picture shows the beginnings of a kindergarten dropoff area.

Weekly Update

This past week the most exciting progress in the school was accent paint on the walls in some of the classrooms.  There will be three accent colors in the school --- red, yellow and green.  Each classroom will have one wall that is painted either red, yellow, or green and the countertops in the rooms will match the paint color. You'll see pictures of the painted accent walls as you scroll down.

I also met with furniture vendors this past week who gave a presentation on desks, chairs, and other furniture for the school.
